Pride Mobility Wheelchairs Subject of Lawsuits Alleging Fires

Pride Mobility, the maker of electric wheelchairs, has come under strict scrutiny as a result of reports of their wheelchairs causing fires.

The fires, in at least one case, was alleged to have burned to death the man occupying the wheelchair in a lawsuit brought by his wife after his death.

The cause of the fires is thought to be electrical, however the exact pin  point of how and why continues to be debated.

Kathy Turner, the wife of Kent Turner who died in the fire, brought a lawsuit against Pride Mobility in Washington in 2015.  Read more here.

Another lawsuit filed by Henry Hickerson against Pride, alleged that he lost his wife and his home in a house fire he contended was caused by the wheelchair.  Read more here.
