Wyoming Health Watch Week-In-Review 1/20/20: Australian Fires & Sex Trafficking

We start the New Year being absolutely heart-stricken by the saddening photographs of koalas, kangaroos and other Australian creatures being absolutely devastated by the worst fires in Australian history. The fire news only underscores what we believe will be the most massive movement of litigation this country has ever seen in the decade to come – climate crisis litigation. And such litigation wars won’t be waged in states like Wyoming and Texas, but rather California, Oregon and New York. One of our top 3 podcasts of last year was our Climate Crisis Litigation podcast, and if you haven’t listened to it, access it here: https://bit.ly/2TCWFKV

The Ochs Law Firm has pledged $2,500 for the animals in Australia. Please join us and click here to donate, and we will match each and every dollar donated. Simply donate, copy/paste your receipt and send it through wyominghealthwatch.com and we will match it: https://www.wwf.org.au/get-involved/bushfire-emergency. Together, perhaps, we can prevent just one catastrophe.

How Can Litigation Act as a Tool to Stop Sex Trafficking

We want to bring awareness to an often difficult subject matter: minor sex trafficking. No one wants to believe such abhorrent behavior is happening in their community, but the reality is, its happening everywhere, including Cheyenne Frontier Days. Join us in bringing an end to this despicable conduct, of which the US is the number one purchaser in the world. Learn and share our informative podcast here, and become part of the solution: https://bit.ly/2RsYQhr

Belviq, the Latest Weight Loss Drug, Linked to Cancer

Weight loss drugs have a difficult and dangerous past in the United States. Twenty five years ago, Fen-Phen was believed to be the miracle weight loss drug, only to be removed from the market a couple years after introduction due to the irreversible injury to the heart valve. Will Belviq be the next Fen-Phen? Listen and share our one-of-a-kind podcast regarding the history behind these controversial drugs: https://bit.ly/3ahmXrV

California’s New Child Abuse Victim Act Provides Victims Access to Justice

As of January 1st, California Child Abuse Victim Act (AB 218) provides anyone who was a child victim of sexual abuse, three years to file their claim against their perpetrators and entities responsible, regardless of when the abuse occurred. California follows New York with this “reopening” of the statute of limitations. Will other states follow? Get up to speed with our podcast here: https://bit.ly/372h6ob

We continue to be active in communities across the Rocky Mountain region with respect to bringing education and awareness regarding the vaping epidemic sweeping across this region in our high schools and middle schools. We are available and willing to present to any school in the region about the dangers of vaping – free of charge. Simply go to Wyominghealthwatch.com and email us and we will arrange. We want to see an end to these efforts targeting our children.
